The red grape variety (also VB 91-26-5) is an interspecific new breeding between Cabernet Sauvignon x unknown resistance partners. The hybrid was crossed in 1991 in the canton of Jura in Switzerland. The early ripening vine is susceptible to powdery mildew but resistant to frost. It produces fruity red wines. The variety is grown exclusively in the Netherlands by the producer Colonjes (after whom it is named) and in Sweden.
