Description

Grape Type:

Cabernet colonjes is a hybrid blue grape from Switzerland. The crossing was made in 1991 on cabernet sauvignon and a non-specified grape, determined to be the Regent grape variety from DNA markers. The grape is grown mainly in the Netherlands but is also grown in other cooler climate areas. The original name of the variety is VB 91-26-5

The grape produces wines with a fruity taste reminiscent of merlot. It matures early in the season.
