Apostelhoeve Riesling 2018

This 2018 Riesling is an exciting wine, in which a lot is happening! In the nose, yellow apples and melon are complemented with typical developing aromas. We taste flavours of mandarin, and yellow apple, a steely and stony taste, combined with typical developing Riesling flavour of petrol. The wine is tight and deep, with a nice balance between fruit and acidity. A typical Riesling!

Appearance
A clear, lemon coloured wine with pale color intensity. We see some small bubbles at the bottom of the glass
Nose
The wine has a clean, developing nose. The wine has a medium aroma intensity. We smell vegetal, mineral aromas in combination with yellow fruits: yellow apples and melon are complemented with typical developing flint / petroleum and fennel aromas.
Palate
It is an off-dry wine with a medium level of alcohol (12.5%) and a medium + level of acidity. The wine has both a medium+ flavour intensity body. In the palate we taste floral and mineral aromas, yellow fruit and citrus fruit. We taste flavours of mandarin, and yellow apple, a steely and stony taste, combined with typical developing Riesling flavour of petrol.
Quality Assessment
It is a good wine, perfect to drink now, but could improve. This 2018 Riesling is an exciting wine, in which a lot is happening! The wine is tight and deep, with a nice balance between fruit and acidity. A typical Riesling!
