The wine has a clean nose, with medium(+) aroma intensity and youthful development. The aromas show floral, vegetable, herbal and fruity characteristics. We smell black currants, black cherries, roses, pine ( a bit of a medicinal smell), bay leafs and some cedar wood.
A dry wine medium- acidity and medium alcohol (12.5%). The wine is medium bodied, has a medium flavour intensity and medium- tannin. The palate of the wine shows fruity, floral and herbaceous characteristics. We taste rose hips, rose leaves, beetroot, bay leafs, and cedar wood. After decanting the wine, the wine shows much more softer fruity characteristics and less harsh tannin. The ending is of medium length.
The wine has a beautiful concentration and is very compact. We strongly recommend to decant the wine for at least 30 minutes, because this improves the fruit and softens the harsh cedar wood taste. Since the wine has rather low levels of acidity and tannin, we don’t expect is will further improve with ageing.
