TASTING NOTE

Rosé 2020

rose wine

Our rating

7.5 /10
The smell differs significantly from the taste, which gives an exciting effect. We smell a lot of red and sweet fruit, citrus and some tones of hay, where in mouth the taste is strongly dominated by citrus flavors. The wine is good but still young at the moment of tasting and for that reason still fairly high in some hard acids. We expect these to soften with a little bottle aging. That’s why we recommend leaving this rose for a while until a warm summer day or, if you can’t wait, decant it.
For food-pairing we recommend a fresh salad with red onion, tuna and capers and a nice French vinaigrette ( Salade Nicoise)

Detailed Tasting Notes

Wine tasting: 1 Jun 2021
Appearance
A clear, salmon to orange colored wine with a medium color intensity and, in the beginning, some petillance in the glass.
Nose
The wine has a clean nose with medium – aroma intensity. It has a youthful aroma development of fruity and flowery characteristics. We smell red currant, raspberry, elderflower, a mandarin orange and some grapefruit and some tones of grass and hay.
Palate
The rose is dry wine with a medium level of alcohol and medium acidity. The wine is medium bodied with medium flavor intensity and characteristics of citrus fruit and red fruit. We taste a rich mix of fruits: mandarin and mandarin peel, lime, grapefruit, red currants, raspberries and strawberries. It has no tannins and a good finish of medium + length.
Quality Assessment
The smell differs significantly from the taste, which gives an exciting effect. The wine is good but still young at the moment of tasting and for that reason still fairly high in some hard acids. We expect these to soften with a little bottle aging. That’s why we recommend leaving this rose for a while until a warm summer day or, if you can’t wait, decant it.
