TASTING NOTE

Twentewijn Sueterie Rood Select 2018

red wine

Our rating

8 /10
This blend of Regent, Pinotin and Lemberger (Blaufränkisch) is nicely balanced and has an attractive and broad aroma palate with fruity, floral, earthy and herbaceous characteristics. Lots of concentrated fruit and slightly sweet in its taste. Roses, jammy forest fruits, a pepper and light tones of oak.

Detailed Tasting Notes

Wine tasting: 19 May 2021
Appearance
A clear, ruby-colored wine with a medium+ color intensity. Some tears are visible on the glass.
Nose
The wine has a clean, youthful nose with a medium- aroma intensity and fruity, floral, earthy and herbaceous characteristics. We smell a very broad palate of aromas: blackberries, berries, cherries, rose petals, liquorice, tobacco, rosemary and hints of black pepper.
Palate
The wine is dry but has some residual sugars. Levels of alcohol and acidity are medium, and it is low in tannins. The wine is medium-bodied with a medium+ flavor intensity. The wine has a soft unctuous taste in the mouth and a palate with fruity and floral characteristics. We clearly taste roses, jammy forest fruits, raspberries, blackcurrants and hints of pepper and light tones of oak. The ending is of medium length.
Quality Assessment
The wine is nicely balanced and has an attractive and broad aroma palate. Lots of concentrated fruit and slightly sweet. A good wine, ready to drink but not suitable for further ageing.
