The nose is clear, developing and with a medium+ aroma intensity. The wine has a rich aroma palate, combining fruit, spices and clear and tertiary aromas from the wood maturation. We smell lots of black fruits like black cherries and blackberries, combined with sweet spices like cinnamon, vanilla and cloves. Also hints of white pepper and some animal tones.
A dry, medium+ bodied red wine, with medium- level of acidity, medium alcohol and a bit higher in its tannins (medium+). The wine is clearly still developing. It has a medium+ flavor intensity of red fruit, and animal flavors. We taste cherries, black- and red currants, vanilla, and these typical farm flavors, such as stable and leather. The wine has a med+ length, which however is not a very pleasant experience for everyone.
Opinions about this wine vary widely. One should count on this when buying this wine. It is not everyone’s friend. It is a fascinating wine, with this, for the Rondo, characteristic farm flavor: leather and stable and not overly fruit driven. It is not a wine with a lot of depth and complexity. Open it long in advance and drink it with the farmer’s meal: stew, pork or bread with strong cheeses. The wine is ready to drink and is expected to improve but don’t keep it too long (1-2 years).
