Gris de Villare 2018

De Gris de Villare is een mooie, spannende en goed gemaakte witte wijn met 6 maanden rijping op Frans eiken. Het zoete fruit stuift uit het glas en is mooi geïntegreerd met zachte geuren van houtrijping. Helaas vervaagt de neus na wat langer open te zijn wel een beetje. Maar om dat goed te maken volgt snel een heerlijke volle smaak met bloemen, hinten van houtrijping en heel veel zoet fruit, dat echter wel mooi in balans is met de zuren.

Appearance
A clear, lemon colored wine with medium- color intensity. Some tears are visible on the glass
Nose
The wine has a clean nose, which holds the middle between youthful and developing. The smell is a bit subdued with a medium- aroma intensity but the aroma palate is wide and we smell all kinds of fruit: yellow fruit, citrus, tropical fruit and beautiful scents of wood aging. Pineapple, orange, apple, gooseberries, potpourri, dried figs, vanilla and biscuit. Very nice!
Palate
It is a dry wine with a medium+ level of alcohol (13.5%) and a medium – level of acidity. With a medium+ flavor intensity and medium body this wine has a lot of flavors to offer. It has a full taste and oily mouth feel. We taste characteristics of fruit and oak aging. Nice flavors of mandarin, rose leaves, apricot, yellow apples, vanilla, brioche and rock candy and a pleasant medium+ ending.
Quality Assessment
A beautiful, exciting and well- made wine. It has quite some sweet fruit but this is nicely balanced with the acidity. A beautiful broad aroma and taste palate but after being open a little longer the nose fades a bit. Ready to drink now, not suitable for further aging.
