TASTING NOTE

Maronesse Pionier 2017 (0.375ml)

white wine

Our rating

6.5 /10
A well-made, however not very exciting and rather one-dimensional white wine. In the nose yellow fruits and citrus, unripe galia melon and some hints of vegetables and white pepper. In the mouth, we have lemon, gooseberries, and a clear bitterness, supplemented with some hints of green vegetables, herbs, and white nuts.
Nice to combine with a fresh salad or black olives.

Detailed Tasting Notes

Wine tasting: 19 May 2021
Appearance
A clear, lemon-green colored wine with pale color intensity and some tears visible on the glass
Nose
The wine has a clean, youthful nose, a medium- aroma intensity with characteristics of yellow fruit, citrus fruit, vegetables and flowers. We smell yellow apple, pear, unripe galia melon, elder flower, lemon, and hints of white peach and white pepper. The wine also has some green aromas.
Palate
The wine is dry with a medium level of alcohol (12,5%) and medium – acidity. The wine is medium bodied but not very expressive with a medium- flavor intensity with characteristics of fruit, vegetables and herbs. We taste flavors of lemon, gooseberries, a clear bitterness, supplemented with some hints of green vegetables, some herbs, and white nuts. The wine has a medium ending.
Quality Assessment
It is a well-made wine but not very exciting and rather one dimensional. It is ready to drink now and we don’t expect further improvements. We recommend to combine it with a salad or black olives.
