TASTING NOTE

Polderparel 2017

sparkling wine

Our rating

7 /10
A nice wine to drink on the terrace which gives you that happy summer feeling! This off-dry wine has a nose and palate of yellow fruit, citrus and blossoms. We taste red apples, pear, white peach, lime and grapefruit, muscat grapes and elderflower. The light and fast disappearing mousse is a bit disappointing, especially because the name Polderparel (“pearl of the polder”) suggests a fresh and sparkling wine.

Detailed Tasting Notes

Wine tasting: 6 Feb 2020
Appearance
A clear, lemon-green wine with pale color intensity, clear legs and petillance in the galss.
Nose
The wine has a clean, developing nose, with a medium + aroma intensity of fruits and blossoms. We smell lovely sweet stonefruit, citrus and blossoms in the glass.
Palate
An off-dry wine with a medium level of alcohol and medium acidity. The wine is medium- bodied with a medium+ flavour intensity. We taste a lot of yellow fruit, citrus, stone fruit and blossoms. In more detail we taste red apples, pear, white peach, lime and grapefruit, muscat grapes and elderflower. The finish is of medium length.
Quality Assessment
It is a wine of acceptable quality. We would recommend to drink it now that it is fresh, fruity and young. A nice wine that will bring joy on a sunny day outside. The light and fast disappearing mousse is a bit disappointing, especially because the name Polderparel (“pearl of the polder”) suggests a fresh and sparkling wine.
