Detailed Tasting Notes

Wine tasting: 17 Jan 2024
Appearance
An (almost) clear, ruby colored wine with medium color-intensity
Nose
The nose is clean and developing with medium(+) aroma-intensity. It has fruity, vegetal, herbaceous, and mineral characteristics. We smell black currant, cherries, eucalyptus, steely flavours, fennel and cooked vegetables.
Palate
A dry, medium bodied wine with medium alcohol, medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Flavour intensity is medium with fruity, herbaceous, spicy (pungent), and mineral characteristics. We taste blackcurrant, cherries, eucalyptus, tea, liquorice, juniper, bay-leaves, tobacco and some stony/steely tones. The aftertaste is medium with some mouth-drying tannin.
Quality Assessment
A good wine, ready to drink but can improve with 6-12 months bottle ripening.
