Rouge De Planck 2016
red wine
An elegant wine, well-integrated in terms of wood and tannins. It has characteristics of red fruits, cedarwood, spices and vegetal scents in the nose and dark fruit, vegetal and oaky flavor characteristics in the mouth. We would have preferred more intense fruit flavors, nevertheless this is a pleasant wine with Pinot Noir-like characteristics, so drink it a little chilled.

Appearance
A clear, purple/ruby colored wine with a deep color intensity.
Nose
The wine has a clean nose, which holds between youthful and developing with a medium- aroma intensity with characteristics of red fruits, cedarwood, spices and vegetal scents. We smell aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, sour cherries, vanilla, cedarwood, pine and liquorice.
Palate
A dry wine, with medium alcohol, medium+ acidity and medium- tannins. The wine is medium bodied with a medium- flavour intensity. We taste dark fruit, vegetal and oaky flavor characteristics. Specified flavors are jammy forest fruit, green bellpepper, cedar, juniper, liquorice, thyme and nutmegg.
Quality Assessment
This is a good wine. Drink it now, it will likely not improve. The mouthfeel of the wine is a bit thinner than what you would expect with this nose. It is an elegant wine, well-integrated in terms of wood and tannins. We would have preferred more intense fruit flavors.
